Coles gets merry with Kristine Duran-Thiessen

It is the time of year again where we indulge in last minute shopping and preparing delicious recipes to satisfy all tastes. Coles created the ideal advertorial to alleviate some of this "what to serve on Christmas day?" anxiety in Australian Women's Weekly. The 6 page feature provided easy recipes for all the Christmas classics. Kristine Duran also lightens the load by demonstrating how one can accentuate these simple dishes with equally simple and beautiful styling for the main Christmas feast. Although, not many of us may be fortunate enough to enjoy the stunning (and pricey) chandelier overhead ..... we can still hope Santa will be particularly generous this year!

Vanessa & Andy re-work an old classic in S&W Mayonnaise

S&W Mayonnaise is proud of it's move to the exclusive use of 'cage-free' eggs, and has re-branded their product to promote this feature. Vanessa Levis was approached to shoot this campaign and convey the brand's other core elements - it's home-style taste and natural ingredients. Andy Harris was also on hand to best present the classic product with it's thick, creamy texture. The campaign is to be featured in mainstream and food magazines, as well as an outdoor campaign.

Andy gets a taste for Australia.

Tasting Australia is a bi-annual festival paying homage to all that is wonderful about food and beverages. With a subject this close to his heart, Andy Harris could not resist the invitation to participate in the 8-day South Australian event. Along with some of the world's best chefs, Andy was clearly a crowd favourite with his colourful and inspiring cooking classes (however, we have a sneaking suspicion that his adorable English accent also contributes to his popularity with the Aussie fans!)

William Meppem returns to Australia

William Meppem has returned to our shores after 2 months shooting abroad. He began by collaborating on a secret cookbook project with an expat Aussie celebrity chef and Hardie Grant in London. He then jetted to New York for meetings (which we know he used as an excuse to revisit all his old drinking haunts with his Manhattan friends). Australian Gourmet Traveller then flew our lucky fella to the Amalfi coast in Italy to join an amazing luxury cruise that concluded in the gorgeous Tuscan island of Giglio. Sometimes we just want to be him! All these projects will be revealed in thecoming months! However, Will is now home for our summer - and we are glad to have him back!

FLIPP wins Award!

FLIPPing out, FLIPPing excited, FLIPP off! FLIPP is the AAMI "Best New Business" 2007.
I know that is not really gracious to boast - but we are incredibly proud that FLIPP was nominated and then won this prestigious award for 2007. Based on the criteria of needing to be a new business that has demonstrated innovation and excellence in the field - we are flattered that the judges saw us as the best. The AAMI Business Awards are a national award, and whilst the announcement was in Perth on the 30th October, there will also be a NSW awards ceremony in the next few weeks. Thanks to everyone for contributing to our success!

We know that we've mentioned this shoot before but we thought that you might like to feast your eyes on the final product now that Darrell Lea has finally released their Christmas advertising campaign. Not only are we happy to admire Kristine's styling but we are reminded that the festive season with all it's scrumputous trimmings is just around the corner - what could be more exciting?!

B2 hosts Vogue Living's 40th Birthday

FLIPP'S Megan Morton's brilliant new B2 studios have barely opened their doors and yet they have hosted one of the lifestyle publishing industry's most prestigious and exclusive party nights of 2007 - Vogue Living's 40th Birthday bash. Lavishly decorated to fill the warehouse-style studios, the party saw 500 of Australia's most stylish designers, architects, foodies and writers celebrate 40 years. B2 has been a labor of love for Megan and her team and it has to be seen to be believed! Since its opening a few months ago, the studio has also already hosted Mecca's 10th Birthday bash, and the launch of Stella McCartney's newest Adidas line. Although designed originally as stills studios, with their luxury fit-out, natural light and in-house set-builder, they are so lush and large that now all sorts of productions are booking themselves in!
