Jonathan May shot that chef.

Beer and Pork chops all around ........ FLIPP photographer Jonathan May WON the prestigious Sydney Morning Herald's Shoot the Chef photographic competition!
Titled, "Dinner for two with Manu", Manu Fieldel of L'etoile was his willing, skilled and bang-up-for-it subject. The idea was a simple exploration of the similarities found in Manu's early training as a clown and his current role as celebrity chef.

"At 13, Manu was training to be a performing circus clown and planned to join the Carnie life. However at 15, inspired by his father's restaurant he decided to turn direct his passion to food. Now he has 3 chefs hats under his belt, a slew of celebrity TV appearances and a signature restaurant.
When I met Manu and discovered he had been trained as a clown I was fascinated. Originally I thought that the two occupations were completely different, but delving deeper into what makes up the elements of each profession, many correlations became apparent. Cooking in essence is performing too! Whether Manu is cooking for two hundred people on a Saturday night in a packed restaurant, or for his family on a Sunday night, or developing instant recipes for the thousands of TV viewers at home, he is always entertaining.
In my picture I wanted to demonstrate the similarities of performance within both occupations by combining the two, and focusing on the performance side of each.while trying to illustrate Manu's larger than life personality in a single frame."

Thanks to our stylist Emma Elizabeth, makeup artist Sofia Rodi and FLIPP producer Edwina for their significant contribution in the creative collaboration that so impressed the judges.

William Meppem's big bus Angus Burger.

Big burger .. big exposure ... huge size! When FLIPP photographer William Meppem shot the campaign for McDonald's new gourmet burger The Angus Burger with DDB, we didn't predict that it would be as big as a bus! But that is exactly what drove past us earlier today...... the burger is literally the size of the bus!
Styled by FLIPP food-stylist Sally Parker, William was chosen by the creatives at DDB as he has the disturbingly impressive ability to make all products look desirable - even ones that are
bigger than the beast it comes from and is15 feet tall!

FLIPP's fabulous food and fashion fusion - Jacque Malouf

It is true that just writing that title felt so fabulous ..... but it is based in truth about FLIPP's newest food-styling FLIPPster Jacque Malouf. A returned expat, Jacque has spent the last 10 years in Europe styling a cross-section of mainstream advertising for various corporate and retail giants, through to beautiful editorial fashion and food fusion stories. Jacque has several books to her name, which she both wrote and styled for. She has already shot in Australia for Channel 7 and Westfield - so we know she is going to be a wonderful new addition to the local foodie scene.

Jonathan May's calendar boy - John Terilli.

When FLIPP photographer Jonathan May was charged with the freedom to shoot Australia's first Mr Universe John Terilli for the cover of a calendar featuring Stars and their star signs, it was always going to be visually engaging, a little bit kooky and definitely hilarious! Scaring the neighbors seems to be a small habit of Jonathan's, and John made an awesome gardener. Check out the star-garden!

Jaon Loucas in the air.

FLIPP photographer Jason Loucas seems to always be on a plane on-route to his various hotel and resort shoots, so it is fitting that he can also contribute to the in-flight magazines. Qantas Insky magazine cover is this months offering.
